Canadian Climate Change Poll

Mon Nov 26, 2007 at 03:53:52 PM PDT

With the loss of John Howard, Canadian PM Stephen Harper now stands alone with GWB among democratically elected climate skeptics. Although he now spins a line about "apsiritional" targets, he has denied the existence of global warming throughout his public life -- much of that spent in a right-wing Calgary thinktank.

That putrid doublespeak of "aspiritions" became the offical adjective used by the Commenwealth of Nations to make their climate change statement last week. Every attending nation wanted stronger language except for my beloved, and once progressive, country.

On the website for the Toronto Globe and Mail, there is a poll about whether one agrees or not with Harper's "stand" on greenhouse gas emissions. The tally right now is 60% No, 40% Yes. I turn to the Kossacks community to add their vote. If you have an opinion on Harper's position, follow the link below. Thank you from one disillusioned Canadian.

Fox's Rachel Marsden's Ironic Past

Sat Mar 31, 2007 at 01:57:32 PM PDT

Red Eye's Rachel Marsden may be cast as a new Ann Coulter for the repug crowd, but she brings baggage that might even make the latter blush. Today's Toronto Star details her infamous history up here as a serial stalker and false abuse claim filer.

About ten years ago she launched a rape accusation at her swim coach at a Western University, a charge that was spurious and proved unfounded but did result in a lengthy legal battle and the resignation of the university president. In the 90s culture of always believing the victim, she was immediately backed by prominent feminist groups and the university administration. The irony of course is that the exact people who were duped to support her claims are now regular targets of her sophmoric barbs.

After that disgusting episode she then proceeded to stalk two other individuals, resulting in at least one restraining order.

What if Rove DOES Resign?

Mon Jul 11, 2005 at 02:56:21 PM PDT

This is simply a question of strategy. The smart thing would be for Rove to step aside "while the investigation is ongoing". This would dovetail nicely with Scotty's bleatings.

While on leave, Rove could be the lightning rod for public anger (while still advising Bush on the sly), and blunt any further probing by the MSM. Just think, two martyrs: Miller and Karl!

So the question: what is our strategy if Karl calls a news conference in the next 24 hours and does this? As I said before, it looks like a pretty shrewd ploy right now.
